Monitor multi-function printers (scan, fax and copy status)

MFPs report more than a standalone printer: scanner, fax modem and finisher status all have their own MIB branches worth watching separately.

What you'll need

  • A network-connected MFP with SNMP enabled
1

Add it the same way as a standard printer

MFPs support the same Printer MIB as standalone printers for their print engine; add it in Linivo the same way as any other network printer.

2

Enable the extended device MIB where supported

Many MFPs also support the broader Printer/Finisher MIB extensions covering scan-to-email delivery failures and finisher (stapler, sorter) faults; enable this under the device's advanced settings if you need visibility beyond the core print engine.

3

Watch for scan-related faults specifically

A print engine can show healthy while the scan-to-email or scan-to-folder function is failing due to an expired credential or full network share; these often only show up in the extended MIB branches, not the basic status page.
