Connect Linivo to Nutanix AHV/Prism

Nutanix clusters are polled through Prism's REST API rather than per-node SNMP, covering both the AHV hypervisor and the underlying cluster storage fabric.

What you'll need

  • A Prism Central or Prism Element account with a monitoring/viewer role
  • Network access from the sensor to Prism's API endpoint
1

Create a viewer-role account in Prism

Under Prism's role-based access control, create an account scoped to a read-only viewer role rather than cluster-admin, for the same least-privilege reason as any other monitoring integration.

2

Point at Prism Central for a multi-cluster view

If you manage more than one cluster, integrate against Prism Central rather than each Prism Element individually; it gives Linivo visibility across every cluster it manages from one credential.

3

Add the integration in Linivo

Nutanix's API reports node, VM and storage-fabric health together, including the distributed storage layer's resiliency status, which doesn't have a clean SNMP equivalent on hyperconverged platforms.
