Enable SNMP on Ubiquiti UniFi devices

UniFi switches and gateways take their SNMP configuration from the UniFi Network controller, not from each device individually.

What you'll need

  • Administrator access to the UniFi Network application (self-hosted or UniFi OS Console)
https://10.20.0.1/network/default/settings/services Dashboard Devices Clients Settings System Services UniFi Network — Settings SNMP Enabled Version v2c Community String public Port 161 ● One controller setting applies SNMP to every adopted switch and gateway.
1

Open Settings > Services in the controller

In the UniFi Network application, go to Settings > Services > SNMP. This is a controller-wide setting, not a per-device one.

2

Enable SNMP and set the community string

Turning this on and setting a community string pushes the configuration out to every adopted switch, gateway and access point automatically.

3

Add each device in Linivo individually

Even though SNMP is enabled centrally, Linivo still polls each device's own management IP directly; add switches, gateways and any access points you want visibility into as separate devices.
